So it started when I got my 2013 F150 with the Ecoboost and I was curious to see just how good the fuel economy was going to be. I built this spreadsheet to keep track of my hand calculated fuel economy (I'm a coder/analyst by trade and cannot help myself). :) I then traded the F150 in for a 2014 Sport 1500 and just decided to keep track of that since I already built the spreadsheet. In the screenshot below you can see the end of the 112 fill ups before I traded it in for a 2016 Rebel Mopar 16. I drove the same exact commute and use the same exact gas station & gas the whole time....fill it with 91 octane no ethanol gas. The 14 Sport had a 5.7 Hemi, QC, 4x4, 8 speed, 3.21 rearend. The 14 Sport had about 35,000 mile on it when I traded it. My hand calculation was just about always 1-1.5 mpg under what the EVIC said.

Here's a graph....if you look, you can see the difference between the summer blend gas and the winter blend gas.

Below is the same spreadsheet for my 2016 Rebel Mopar 16 with about 4,500 miles. It has a 5.7 Hemi, CC, 4x4, 8 speed, 3.92 rearend. I'm averaging about 1 mpg less than the 14 Sport during the same season, same commute, same gas station, and same gas. I only have 12 fill ups so far on the Rebel.

Most of you don't care, but thought it was interesting enough to share.

could that -1mpg be due to the 3.92 rear end vs the 3.21 you had in the sport?

Yes, definitely....that and the LT Toyo tires on it.

On my 17 Ram 1500 4x4 RCSB w/ 3.92 my best tank was 18.24 mpg. I now have just under 5k miles. All my calculating was done with a calculator.
