Got my new SST wheels in today for the front of the 2014 8sp. These were narrowed from 9" wide to 7" wide. I love the look of this wheel on these trucks.

Weldcraft Wheels in Michigan.

It's awesome that they do aluminum wheels, a lot of places will just do steel.

Did you go with 7" so you could keep a streetable tire on it or was that as far as they could take them? I figured you were going to go full skinny on the fronts.

These are my new street fronts, so I didnt want to go narrower than 7" for these, but on this particular wheel, 7" is as narrow as they can get them.

I guess that's understandable for a street truck, but I'd have gone with something skinnier, like a 195 for a smaller contact patch. Will you air them way up when you run in the 1/4?

Edit: either way it makes a world of difference. The truck looks soooo much more refined like that. Good job.

So here is the funny part. These are the exact same tires that I had on the truck before...the ones that look like a bear on a mini-bike...haha. These wheels are also the exact same size as before 17x7...only difference is that the front wheels now match the rears.

These are also not my track wheels anymore...they are my street wheels. I am actually going to be replacing all 4 tires on these wheels as soon as the drag wheels show up. I want to go back up to a 30-31" tire for the street, where these are only 28".

I really wish we had more options for 30-31" tires in the drag radial flavor.

That would really help fill out the wheel well better, but I wouldn't hold your breath. Even though there's a **** ton of people drag racing trucks, I don't think you'll see a Nitto NT05 in 30-31" anytime soon. The companies that make these tires really cater to cars.

M&H makes a 29.5" radial for 17's, but it is 14" wide and needs about a 12" wide wheel. Gonna be tough to tuck that in the fender. I have actually considered widening the rear SST wheels to 11" and running those on this truck as my street rear tires.
