So I'm faced with a purchase dilemma. To start off with I have a 13 bighorn quad cab with 3.55 gears. A guy near me is selling his front diff and rear axle with 4.10s and posi. He wants 500$ for them which I think is not bad at all. My question is will I run into any problems since his truck is a 2011? Also how much will it hurt my fuel mileage? I do a mix of highway and city driving. I'm currently getting 16.8mpg

Front diff is not a straight swap, rear axle is no problem. In '12 ram switched over from the low pinion 8" diff to a high pinion 8.5" diff. The size isn't an issue but how it mounts in the chassis is different. You can source the correct bracket IIRC, and $500 for the front diff and rear axle is a very nice price IMO.

So it'll work if I get the right bracket basically? And what does iirc mean?

You'll have to grind a notch in the outer housing flanges to fit the ABS sensors on the 2011 rear diff,"if" you want to use your stock brake assemblies. The ABS sensors were moved from the front of the axle to the rear of the axle housing on the newer housings.

For $500 I would jump on it then and worry about finding the brackets later.

He says a guy has said he will take them already but hasn't heard from him in a bit. Gonna ask again in a couple days. He's a solid 2.5 hours from me but worth it.
