For anyone interested . I know OCC seems to be a hypersensitive subject at times so if your not interested then simply don't view this thread and please don't clutter this thread with you OCC Bashing ; however, if you are interested Enjoy and feel free to ask Qs and or post up your own photos !

My story : 2014 Ram 4x4 QC 6 speed 3.55 differentials. Installed my Elite Engineering OCC Corvette Aftermarket Parts, Camaro, GTO Performance Parts, Accessories Oil Catch Cans | Everything you need to know and more!
At aprox 20,500 miles .

First dump was with approximately 2k approx 8.5 oz.

Next was also about 4k approx 7.5oz

The next photo I had dumped it and went on a 1500 mile round trip 95% interstate @70-75mph . I'd say about 3oz

I notice each time it smells of fuel , just a bit ? It won't catch fire , I tried to ignite it anyway this is my experience and I'm happy with the results and not having all that oil / condensation in my intake plenum .

A good read about the ends and outs about oil catch cans if your interested

I just installed my catch can over the weekend. I am curious as to how much oil I get in there. I have 22,000 miles on my Ram. Hope I didn't wait to long to install one

Jeez I hardly get any build up on mine compared to you! Half the winter and I only filled it 1/3 full! Wish I had taken a pic the other day when I dumped it!

About every 2000miles I need to dump my CC because it's roughly 3/4 full. I do a lot of highway driving.

First dump at 300 miles since can install and second dump around 800 miles, a little less then twice as much.

I drive my 2015 like a grandma, and my catch can was almost full after only 700 miles. I dont know why I even looked in it so soon, but glad I did.

I will always feel that this is 1 of the better bang for buck mods you can buy for the truck.

Emptied mine at about 2000 miles. It probably had around 3-4 ounces worth in it.

Head design imo is better on the elite engineering one .
Just my opinion.
Nothing wrong with billet technologies can I believe this is the one offered by Moe's , it's very popular . I think they offer a sight indicator , this would be nice so you could check it by just opening the hood .
I just prefer the head design of Elite Engineering OCC, I believe it eliminates more oil mist front entering the intake and again Sir this is just my opinion .

It amazes me the number of anti-catch can folks.

Some just don't understand the physics and think their daddy's Oldsmobile didn't need one, so by damn they don't.

What they don't realize is the Hemi has relatively higher compression and when combined with modern pistons that have shorter skirts and fewer rings, you get a bit more carbon and unburned fuel as blow-by entering crankcase. It volatizes (turns to a mist with entrained water and oil) and the PCV sucks it out. But who needs the knock, or pulled timing, and associated varnishing up all over the intake system.

They can save their pennies if they choose, but its stupid to bash a good product doing what it should. IMHO

Did I miss something?? A totally positive thread about catch cans without even one posting that bashed and you highlight negative that didn't exist in the thread.

All I needed for proof that my cc was worth every penny was when I emptied it a few weeks ago and saw this. Pretty much speaks for itself.

I called Elite Engineering and asked them prior to my purchase , if I remember corectly they only listed dodge 5.7 though 2006 , anyway that's the one for all 4th gen 5.7L in 1500 series trucks . Fwiw I got the basic model with regular black hoses and fittings , they offer in line check valves and such ... I'm very happy with the one I got .

Hope this helps !

Are you being sarcastic about your driving style Sir ? With a forum name like Hemi450hp and all

Not sure where I read it , but " I think" I've read the less agresive you drive the more venting you get to a catch can?

Seems backwards to me ...

I do know this , I definitely drive like a grandma and mostly short trips of under 20 miles per drive with an oil temp of under 190°

I seem to vent a lot to my occ but my oil level doesn't go down on the stick ?

I'm thinking a contributing factor may be normal condensation buildup due to my driving style and short trips not getting the oil hot enough to boil off the condensation that builds up every time you drive and heat the engine then it cools after shutdown with everyday driving .
I'm pretty sure it's not the 30wt oil in running , I was running 20wt oil before and vented about the same .
