1500 miles should be fine Sir , different 5.7s and diff driving styles will yield quite a bit different results .

RodRam above = approx 8OZ in 10k , me I've gotten approx 8OZ in only 4k miles ...
To my knowledge RodRam typically runs a 20wt oil , I typically run a 30wt oil which yields a 2 - 5 psi higher than the 20wt oils , the PCV is operated on pressures being vented from the crankcase .
This said , driving styles , diff 5.7 engines , oil wt , diff PCV and diff environmental conditions will yield diff amounts of oil vented and trapped into the catch can .

I recommend checking the occ at about 1500 mile intervals Untill you determine what your spacific intervals should be .

Hope this helps !

It helps alot. I'm running synthetic that the dealership uses. Until my 2 year free oil change runs out. Then I will get more input from the guru's on this forum for the best synthetic oil weight to use.

Installed everything last night pretty quick and easy. I can still rotate the mounting bracket a bit with the locking washer and bolt tight, is this an issue? Not sure it was suppose to be unable to move or not.

On another note, you can use 'Trip B' on your on board computer to easily track how many miles since last dump :).

That's a good idea didn't think about that. And when I tightened the bracket up on mine I couldn'tmkve it. 38cd2cb00010c0941bdb89c570e8bfdd.jpg598d57be9ae0f8b2581689e015a75d38.jpg

gonna be towing ~1000 miles tomorrow. Should be interesting to see what I get out of mine. Typically I fill the can half way between 5k oil changes

EJR_3 did you buy a billet tech occ . Mine came with a spacer to put between the bracket and the head so the wires could run behind it.

Yup, have the spacer installed as also. Got the bolt in nice and tight, but with a little force I can still rotate the bracket towards the fenders. I don't want to over tighten it and make things worst.

I just snugged mine real good didn't try real hard to move it. If it doesn't move real easy it should be fine. Yeah you don't want to over tighten it. With the hoses attached it should be fine. If it was lose it should move real easy.

That's exactly what I've been using. Good idea.

You may be shanking out on the bolt shank , all engines are a bit different!

Try installing a thick washer on the bolt .

Once the bolt is tight , you shouldn't be able to turn the occ assy easily .

Dumped oil catch can today after I put 1537.0 miles since last check. It had 25.75 cc's in it . Is that about normal or is that too much.

Sounds about right. That's about what my truck produces in that amount of miles....
