Awesome thanks! I just changed the air filter in August along with my cabin filter. I've always had this gritty stuff at the bottom of the catch can since I put it on at 10000 miles but not this much. Might try a new pcv valve....

Edit Just cleaned it all out and despite looking like grit it's more of a sludge. Not sure if that's better or not. I'm about to go on a 200 mile trip tomorrow so I'll check it when I get back...

Just oil, no grit or sludge....

Good sign. Look pretty clean to me. Maybe that junk was just in the rubber hose.

Well I got nervous about the sludge in my CC so I decided to borescope my engine from the oil filler neck. I believe this is a push rod. Guess I don't have to worry about sludge at least in the drivers head...

Excellent! If you can use one see if you can get some pictures. I'm sure they will be better quality than my $19.99 Amazon special...

Its a little tricky getting it into the head. I wiretaped a thin metal rod to the camera end so I had something rigid to get it through the passage into the head. Looking at some pics of the 5.7 head online, I believe that is a pushrod and it looks like Redline is keeping my engine nice and clean.

I agree about the " nice & clean "
I'd like to get some pics from below as well from up above .

I've been thinking lately that I may get some pics via borescope through a couple spark plug access holes when I change my plugs , but that's over 10k miles away ...

This is one reason (I) believe the CC is a very good investment! I can't imagine any of that getting into your or my combustion chamber!

I am more picky about my air filter service then any thing else. This has already been brought up but----->Never Neglect your Air Filter and keep that housing clean as well.

If your wallet can keep supporting it?------> Keep Rocking the Red Line!

Bore scoping through the spark plug hole should definitely give a great view of how well the oil catch can is working ( my intentions for sure ) the use of an occ combined with an extremely high temp tolerant oil such as Redline .. I believe is a best case cenario for the Hemi .

Just need a non catch can hemi to compare with ..... and also using a conventional oil , or at least not RL , this should make for a good comparison.

That really is incredible. A whole quart of oil that would've been ingested by the engine. Think about how much cleaner your cats are because of the OCC

OK I went to empty my catch can today and it was so tight that I had to take it off, put it in a vise and use a pipe wrench to loosen it. I only put it on there hand tight, at least I thought.

How tight are you guys tightening yours???
