^^^^This

I have to say, I was a bit skeptical myself when I plunked down $100+ for a shiny aluminum can a few months back but after seeing what I dumped out of mine last night (2/3rd full and a thick layer of sludge at the bottom after 4k miles)... I'm kicking myself for not buying it sooner!
You , me and a lot of folks say the same thing

FWIW , here's some pics of my install last summer.

Removed OEM tube from PCV to intake .

Installed Elite Engineering OCC.

This is how & where I mounted . Wanted to keep it low ( below intake area) so gravity is working for me as well.

Better late than never when it comes to an occ imo.
My last truck didn't have issues from not having an occ Untill about 145k .

So 5 weeks after starting my new job that consists of a 120 mile round trip commute this is where my catch can sits at. I dumped it my first week of my new job.

It amazes me the number of anti-catch can folks.

Some just don't understand the physics and think their daddy's Oldsmobile didn't need one, so by damn they don't.

What they don't realize is the Hemi has relatively higher compression and when combined with modern pistons that have shorter skirts and fewer rings, you get a bit more carbon and unburned fuel as blow-by entering crankcase. It volatizes (turns to a mist with entrained water and oil) and the PCV sucks it out. But who needs the knock, or pulled timing, and associated varnishing up all over the intake system.

They can save their pennies if they choose, but its stupid to bash a good product doing what it should. IMHO

I'm not "anti-catch can", but I didn't see a need for one until I did this job...

Now I have to muster up the strength to drill a hole in my valve cover.

u guys are scarin me! lol. it kinda sucks that a catch can is needed. :(
Catch can is a good idea--not essential. If you lease, or plan to sell in a few years it will probably be someone else's problem down the road.

So for enjoyment of a Hemi engine its a good idea. Otherwise buy a Furd or Chebbie and have different problems.

Imo , any vehicle make or model that has the PCV " Positive Crankcase Vent " routed to the air intake should have an occ to catch oil mist , unburnt fuel and normal condensation build up before it enters the throttle body / air intake .
Not all engines are set up this way . The 5.7L Hemi definitely requires an occ imo , especially if you plan on having it long term .
I personally keep my vehicles a long time . My last truck 17 yrs & 275k.
