Oil catch cans are a lifesaver I didn’t realize how bad we needed it until I installed mines. This definitely should have came from factory.

Are there any with higher capacity?

Call me lazy but I have a million things I check off my list on a daily basis between work and raising children and everything else that comes up in life.

I see most guys are having to check every 1-2k miles.

Are there any that can support a Hemi for a full oil change interval so it can just be done then??

I check every 1500, but given how much is usually in there I could probably do 5000 without a problem and I do my oil every 5K. I have the Billet Tech one.

1000 miles, probably ~100 WFO pulls to 6200 rpm.

I've debated on drilling and tapping a 3/8 hole in the can part for a hose fitting to a larger container. But the BT catch can is such a nice piece I don't want to take a chance on destroying it...

The optional drain valve for the UPR catch can we sell makes this a very easy process to empty in just seconds. the oil levels caught will vary based on how you drive and conditions the truck sees.

Actually most can wait till an oil change ?.

I check mine every 2-3 k but it's normally no where near full at that point [emoji1303]

PUP 5W-20

89 Octane

When that was taken, about 60,000 on the odometer

Just do it. Then you can run a long hose to your undercarriage and let it run out[emoji1787][emoji1787]

even if you were to fill it up before checking it at the oci, you are keeping a ton from getting into intake. so having one is better than not!

if it filled and gets pushed into intake as liquid that would be far worse than a fine mist like it is from the factory.

If the can was full you’d just accumulate the normal amount of water and blow-by oil through the PCV into the intake.

Now for whatever reason the reservoir was tipped upside down you have bigger issues. I’ve heard of cases where the can froze in the winter and blew a seal or line off, but with any aftermarket modification it is usually never ‘as’ idiot-proof compared to the PFMEA done from the factory.

I gotta say... that drain is the only thing I dont like the UPR catch can.

I loved that drain valve. For the first 6 months.

However. I went to drain my can the other day. Opened the valve, nada.. thought it was strange since it had been a couple thousand miles, opened up the can, and it was full. I guess the valve get clogged up.

Suppose I could soak it in some ethanol or something huh?

Wow thats the 1st time hearing this about the drain kit. I would be interested in hearing what comes out when you clean it.
