Just don't fill up to the top after the change, let the level on the stick after you put back 90% dictate how much to add to hit the top of the line.

According to my convertor app 7 quarts is 6.6 liters. So I would dump one whole 5 liter jug in and then just one liter out of the other 5 liter jug. Start, let run and settle then top up as needed. In theory it would be about a half liter low (still in the safe range but not full), better to top up than overfill it.

Added 7 qts and the dipstick is reading high. It's past the upper mark/hole, almost to the little "s" bend on the dipstick. Truck had sat for a few hours and was sitting level when I took the reading.
Before I swapped out the factory fill the oil measured to the "E" on "SAFE". Oil pressure still seems to be higher and I wonder if it's because there's too much oil now? Do I trust the dipstick or just keep using 7 quarts since that's what the manual calls for? Never had this problem before in my previous 2 dodge rams.

I have the opposite problem, my Ram takes 8 quarts to fill the dip stick. I have went off the dip stick the entire time, I've never needed to add any oil ever during the oci, which makes me happy. I never had an issue, but it has always made me a little uncomfortable.

Burla are you running the Big filter ?

Mine took 7 quarts and was at the top of the full mark on the dip stick.

Backcountry, did you check your oil after start up ?

What's you oil pressure before it warms up? Mine is high 50's/low 60's while driving. It only drops to low to mid 50's when it's at 220 F. I swear it wasn't like that with the FF.

I've only checked the oil when the engine is cold. I am running the smaller filter btw.

Pentastar is 6 qt capacity but I only get 5.5-5.7 drained. If you use 6 quarts it will be off the high end of the stick. I measure what I drain and then add what came out. Check on the stick once it has been run and sit for 15-minutes.

I'm right at 30,000 miles and I'm running the current fill until 35,500 and getting a Blackstone analysis before it goes off warranty to check for possible fuel/coolant leaks.
