What's your dealer charging for a oil change on the Hemi? Reason I ask is I think a dealer in my area is over charging. I looked at my reiciets and see that I am being charged for 8 quarts. I go to two different dealerships for service and the other charges for 7 which is the correct amount. Check those reiciets and post em if you can. I am going to raise a little hell at this dealership tomorrow.

A lot of times if the fill quantity is 7q it will take 7.5, you don't go by what it supposed to be, you go by what it takes. if even 1/4 of the cars took 7.5 everyone gets charged for 8. Not worth trying to tracks whos particular car took what. And if you didn't like that you can be invoiced for 7 quarts regardless of what your car takes and pay $10 more in labor.

I used to change my own oil in my 09, basically the same motor it would only take 6.5 quarts when changed. The initial fill is 7 from factory. They are screwing people. I called the other dealership I deal with and he confirmed what I said it takes 6.5 to 6.75 quarts and they charge for 7. Overfilling is not good. And on top of it they charge more per quart.

my god, why do people chime in with completely irrelevant information regarding what the OP is asking for. For christ sake people..... he didnt ask who has free oil changes or lifetime oil changes.

anyhow......I do my own oil changes. With a new filter I pour exactly 7 quarts and i'm just a little below the top of the range on the dip stick. I also let my pan drip for quite a while, so that may be why i do all 7 quarts

$55 Canadian for conventional oil. It's a Mopar Express Lane service so just under 45 minutes for an oil change.

Buy your oil at Costco by the case and change it yourself . Save a ton over the life of your truck.

Did you just ***** and moan at other people for not giving OP the information he asked for, and then do exactly that yourself? :roflsquared:

Yea things got off topic. It's really about the stealership ripping customers off. A Hemi does not take over 7 quarts.

I took my wife's '14 Durango R/T in for an oil change to the dealer last week. I brought along 7 quarts of synthetic. I saw the tech pour the oil in. I walked over to the car to say hi. He started the car let it run for 10 seconds, shut it off. Checked the dip stick, turns to me and asked if I had another quart. ????? I said I gave you 7. His response was "I used the bigger filter so it takes more". (I still haven't checked the filter part #). I just said "no", I will check it at home and add if necessary. I checked the level after allowing the car to sit for a bit and sure enough it was at the lower level on the dip stick. I had to add a quart. ????

What I did not do was check the 7 bottles on the bench to see if they had all been emptied....
