Hey guys this is my first ram and I changed the oil the other day. The owners manual says it takes 6 quarts but autozone said 7. I put 6 in and checked it this after noon after the truck has been off for 8 hrs and it reads fine on the dipstick. But it is 100 outside. So is it 6 or 7? I have a 2011 with the hemi.

5.7L HEMI has since reintroduction back in early 2000's been 7 qts with filter this includes all of them in pickups and cars. I have never seen anything else.

Oh yeah- I was forgetting the huge amount the filter holds. I like to put as much in the filter as I can without spilling on it's trip up to the engine.
