The other day I was checking the oil in my truck and noticed it was a little low. Then I noticed a oil stain on the ground so I decided to inspect the engine. Liked under the truck and notice that the power steering unit had our on it. Then I checked the filter and noticed oil all over the filter and sending unit. So off to the Dodge dealership and they took it back and in a little while came back and told me that part of the oil filter seal had blown out. So they cleaned it up and changed my oil. Then they did several updates to the pcm and one was a radio update and now my Bluetooth doesn't work. Has anyone else had this problem before. And my truck is a 2016 Ram Express. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Did you try deleting your phone from the radio and re-pair them. I've had that problem after a radio upgrade before and that fixed it.

Just take it back to the dealer and make them fix it. I'm guessing your question has nothing to do with an oil leak at this point? That stuff happens all the time, it is above most peoples pay grade to figure out. They broke it, make them fix it. Let them re-pair it, ha.

The Bluetooth won't even come on when the radio turns on. And yes I was wondering if anyone has heard of an oil filter blowing part of the seal and leaking. I have never had this problem before.

And I noticed that when I got home that the paperwork didn't say anything about an oil leak. Just said that they changed the oil and updated the pcm.

I would set my evic to oil pressure for a while, start noting what your pressures are. And I would have asked to see that filter and taken it apart.

I didn't think about asking to see the filter. When I checked the oil it was just a little low. Not even a 1/4 of a quart low. And the oil pressure stays at 52 after its warmed up and driving. At idle after driving it, it stays between 35-40

Yeah those are normal, it was probably just a faulty filter. I would still change the oil myself next time and cut open the filter.

I will the next time. Since the Dodge place is doing the free oil changes what would be a good oil and filter.

Hi whetrick1,

Sorry to hear about this! I'd recommend revisiting your dealership to have them confirm the radio software update installed properly. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
