What is everyone's oil temps sitting at when cruising 70 down the HWY?? List if you have a clutch fan delete and/or efan mod. Or running the stock efan with clutch. So on so forth.

Only for people running the 180° Tstat

You mean 170* tstat? I'll share anyway.

My oil temp will get to around 208* without a clutch fan, grille shutters closed and doing 70mph down the highway for 35mins at a time on stock efan with the settings on the efan that still need to be lowered.

180* or 170* will work. Moe's sells 180* and is the biggest vendor around here so that's why I chose 180*. 208* for oil temp is close to mine. Been messing with my stock efan with the trinity to see how the temps fluctuate.

You can buy a 170* tstat and it's MUCH cheaper than what moes sells for and your coolant temp will still remain 185* because of internal regulation. Mine runs 185* all the time. It fluctuates a little but not much.

My oil on the hwy will stay around 206*, I have 180 tstat, efan conv, no clutch fan. I was playing with a mustang from about 70 to around 130+ and I got up to about 230*. Came right back down after some easy driving. Fans are set to 195

I noticed a big change when you set the fan ten degrees lower than that. Oil didn't really break over 200° when just cruising.

Only problem I see there is the fan staying on all the time, does your fan shut off when you set the temps that low???

Yeah it does just not for very long haha. Thinking about bumping it up a bit higher and seeing if it's a better middle ground. Only one fan parameter in the Trinity controls the stock efan. It seems to be programmed no matter what to shut off 10° cooler than its turn on point. So I'll try and find a happy medium.

I have a 13' , I have em set to 194 or 195, don't remember. Haven't had any problems and the fan doesn't run for too long. It did however drive me crazy how much the aftermarket fan caused vibration, but I have gotten used to it

Being a 2014 set it to 196 F or you will have the fan go out prematurely...

I was told by Sean to set it at 188° for my tune. Started messin with it this past week.

I have a 180 stat and the temperature at its coolest is 185.
On the street cruising it'll go to about 188-189 and on the freeway it'll stay at 185 all day.
The fan only turns on when it gets got like sitting at a drive thru.

I have my trinity set at 197 for the AC off temps and stock for the AC on temp.
I have no clutch fan anymore and it has no issues whatsoever

Where are you adjusting the fan temps at on the Trinity. I do not seem to have the option.

Click performance from the main menu. Click custom tune if that's what you are running and choose to modify the parameters of whichever custom tune you are running. Cooling fans AC off is the top option. Than choose the high MPH fan option which is the top one as well. Whatever that is set at is when my fan comes on.

Well the trinity tuner only has fan ON options
So you set this temp when you want the fan to turn on
So when it turns on, it'll turn off at around 10 degrees cooler than the ON temperature

So if your stat is the coolest at 185, set all 3 temps at 10 degrees higher than that.

He is wrong.

Set it there, it will come on and never turn off.

Test it yourself. Then try 196 F

Jay

Obviously I did. That's why I created this post. And stated previously that I've been testing it here recently.

And why it needs to be set to 196 F, or it will burn up the fan prematurely.

Incorrect. This isn't a choose A or B discussion. 188°-196°. There are numbers inbetween that could be a better choice. Although I do agree 188° makes the fan stay on forever once it comes on, I don't agree that 196° is the best. I tried 196° two weeks ago. Fan didn't come on soon enough in my opinion. But I digress.

Still curious to hear what others are setting their stock fans too and what oil temps they are seeing.

Cheers.
