Synthetic Oil

Oil change history of my '14 Hemi RCSB:
900 miles out factory fill and filter
in Pennzoil 5W-20 w/Mopar filter

5200 miles out ^^^^
in Mobil 1 5W-30 w/Mann filter

10,250 miles out ^^^
in same as above

12,600 miles now

50, 400
penzoil ultra platinum 5w-20 full syn fram filter.
when I bought the truck the service manager had driven it for 1,000 or more miles and although the techs changed the oil( probably put conventional oil in it) they did not reset the %, so I did.
I figured when it go to 30% I would change the oil. the truck had 44k on it when bought it. probably should have changed it earlier, before my last trip of 1700 miles. oh well. That was the last item on my list: I added a vararam, a catch can, 180 tstat, hemifever tune , cat back. I recently did the seafoam and added a ported TB. washed the engine bay, so everything is all clean, inside and out. I and added BT red bling blng. next oil change at 55k.

7 quarts Amsoil Signature series 0W40 and a Amsoil filter

QSUD 5w30 @ 25k miles
Previous OC's were all 5w20, PP, PYB & QSUD
DYI, full drain, removed dipstick for venting, took exactly 7 quarts
Used Fram XG10060 OF.

Yes you can run either filter with the electric steering on the 13+. My truck actually came with the larger filter from the factory

Changed after 9,300 miles EVIC said 7% remaining, which coincides with the 10,000 ticker

One More Time! Please Gents! Please! Limit all Questions to the Synthetic Oil Thread! This thread is just for posting your OCI--->Oil/Viscosity/Oil Filter going in and Same for coming out. As well as mileage on OCI as well as mileage on Ram.

If you want to inquire how noisy or quiet your Hemi is that is welcome too. Just no reason for any oil/filter related questions. Some members here are just interested in seeing what other owners use.

RLK: No Worries Mate! I know Smiley is Busy. But maybe he can step in and clean it up? Also I don't like to hear it called Rules! I consider it just following a Very Simple Format! The format was in place only to make it very simple and fast and clean to read. A place were owners can post their info without being Ridiculed for their Oil Choice/Viscosity & Filter choice! There is enough of that already within the Synthetic Oil Thread! We don't need 2 threads like that. Also the format makes it easy and pleasurable for other owners to scan down through at a fast pace and see what others are using. No Questions and No Ridicule! Most owners like to avoid those 2 things.

Also I don't know how active Burla is going to be but If you would help me keep it bumped I would be very grateful.

Just did a 5400 oci from PUP 5w20 with RP 10-48 to the same oil and a wix xp filter.

Was getting some cold tap startups occasionally (probably after the truck sat for a couple days) so we'll see if the filter changes anything

Winter OCI!
Out: 4qts PUP 5W-30/3qts SRT 0W-40 w/300ml MoS2 (Fram Ultra 10060)

In: 6qts PUP 5W-30/1Qt SRT 0W-40 w/FU 10060

Next Summers oil change: I will run the FU 10060 for 2 OCI-(not changing it with the following winter OCI).

Only had 1Qt of SRT 0W-40 left.
Will order more when it shows it's in stock.

Filter mag looks awesome , have you used it before?

It's a beautiful fit as well...but pricy butt you get what you pay for... this is my first time with it. I threw it on my stock filter for about 2 weeeks before I got the redline and changed today. I am tempted to cut open the filter to see how much it may have caught in that short time. If I do I will post pics. I will defiantly cut the royal purple filter after the full cycle. I recommmed it. Also truck sounds a little better already on the redline seems "smooth like butter" as Burla says on startup,,.can't wait to see what happens over time...happy107:
