so..this is just "adding" another inlet for air to get in, right? do you leave the stock passenger wheel well air intake alone? How does it sound after? And as far as power, I suspect you cant feel it by the seat of your pants?

Yes, you leave the stock wheel well inlet alone. To me it doesn't sound any louder. Yes, I definitely can feel the difference once the truck once the truck is moving maybe 50mph and up. But I also have a 6.4 with headers/exhaust, tune, ported TB. The new Cummins powered trucks actually use a factory ram air system now, which helps reinforce that it's worth doing.

Whether it would be worth plugging the fender inlet for a true "ram air" I couldn't say. When I finally get the truck to the track I will try it both ways and see if it makes any difference at all. But doubt it.

Great info! I'm just about to do mine but I have a question about drilling out the hole behind the grille. From what I can see behind that plastic piece is the windshield washer reservoir. Is there enough room to the side of it to drill the hole or do you have to go around it? Didn't look like much room behind there to snake the tube around the reservoir.

I just pulled the grille off and I don't see any way on a 2014 express to have the tube inlet face forward. It's the coolant reservoir that's there and I can't see anything I can drill a 3 inch hole through to run that tube to the front of the truck. Looks like I'll just have it hang down by the frame rail like on another thread.

We had to relocate the reservoir to the driver side

Thanks! I didn't see the other thread about relocating it. Makes sense now.

On the 2500 I didn't need to relocate anything, but I know the layout is a bit different.

On my 17 its just straight down secured to bumper bracket. I have a clamped on fitting on end with a piece of screen for additional filter of sorts. Sorry no pic of end behind bumper

Doesnt sound any different, i can feel it wot above 40-50? It seems to pull faster and longer but no real proof. Just butt dyno, its subjective but im happy with the 25$ added air intake

IMO, it helps at highway speed. But don't have any hard info to back that up.

Not gonna feel any gains with any type of cai till you can pressurize the airbox some....Gonna have to be doin some good speeds to make it effective..BUT @ roughly $60 and a some time with wobbley pops, cant hurt..
