I'm just north of Jasper Indiana, which is in the very southern part of the state. Sunday, I hauled a motorcycle 10 miles north of Indianapolis. Then drove back home. There was a good mix of conditions. I had a little rain, later it cleared up. There were lots of elevation changes vairring from 550 to 850 ft above sea level. I had a bit of a tail wind on the way up, a bit of a headwind on the way back. I took 231, 45, 37, 465, and north of Indy 31, which I experienced stop and go, and slow construction traffic. All in all it was a good mix of driving conditions. I ran 4 mph over the posted speed limits most of the time. Romped on it once.

19.586 mpg. Hand calculated. The evic said 20.3. My mods see in my signature. From a glance, you'd think I did everything I could to ruin fuel economy. But that has not been the case.

This result is consistent with what I have seen playing with the Lie-o-meter on th dash.

Myth Busted.

OMG, you guys have incredible mph even with 4.10's. With 3.55 I average 9-10 mph around here. On the highway, I'm happy to see 15.5mph.

recently on the longest road trip I took in this truck (was 860 km....roughly 500 miles) I averaged 21.5 mpg (or 11.1 L/100km) as indicated by the display.

But....on one full tank of 91 oct...I got 800kms before needing fuel, could have gone more but I would have ran it dry. That was driving at average 130-140 Km/hr at 2300rpm.

In city and for cruising nights I only get 15 mpg. But I kinda race it around light to light haha

Mines a RCSB so that helps a little, but on the highway I'm around 20-22. just depends on my heavy foot.
In town I dont even look anymore cause I know its not great since I haul ass all over town... but usually around 13-15 on average.

My truck, and mods are in the signature line.

The point is: 4.10s do not kill your fuel economy.

Even with the extra little tricks that the newest trucks have, unless you luck out and get thin air, a tailwind, or are coming out of the mountains, You can't push something this big, fast, and get good gas mileage. I've done that too. It happens. But as soon as you turn around, the gas mileage plummets. What I did was up and back, rain, stop lights, hills, motorcycle on back.

WOW man. My overly stock laramie 4x4 struggles to get 16.5. I need to pony up for some mods.

Mine do... but that cause the combo of right foot mixed with acceleration of 4:10's.... :naughty:
