I don't know how many of us have the remote start on their trucks but has anyone else encountered this problem. If you start your car with the remote start and your fuel is really low (gas light on), does your truck turn itself off? This has happened to me twice and I'm thinking that was the issue. Any thoughts?

That's how it works, so you don't run it out of gas. Start keeping gas in it and it won't do that. Mine has only done that twice in a year and it was real low on gas.

Doesn't cost any more to keep a tank full than to keep it empty.

Read the owners manual. The truck is designed to shut off if a number of things aren't met. One of those being enough fuel.

My range in my 15 is horrible, I have to be like 100ft before I'm in range of starting. My 13 I could be super far and it would start. Not sure what the difference is

Do you have uConnect for remote start?
My 14 remote start with the fob is around 100 yds if I'm lucky. Usually shorter like yours if there is anything between me and the truck. I've been using the technique of looking at the truck and putting the fob under my chin when I hit the button if it doesn't reach normally. It seems to give me some more range.

HAH! I learned this the hard way just last week. Fuel light came on on the way to work, and I attempted to use the remote start as I was walking to the truck after work. Started, then shut off. Thought, oh that's odd. Started again, shut off. Jumped in the truck and saw the low fuel light and assumed it was a "feature".

Pretty stupid, IMO. Especially for those of us with the 32 gallon tank. I actually still have upwards of 5.5 - 6 gallons left when the light comes on.

So should it be set up different if you have the Bigger tank. It's not a big deal just don't use the remote start if you don't have enough gas in it.

At the least, they should make it so I can turn off the "feature" in the EVIC like the hundreds of other things it allows me to control. Secondly, they should fix the low fuel light so it comes on a more reasonable time, like 2-3 gallons left (like every other vehicle in existence).

Safety feature so you don't run out of fuel while trying to warm/cool your truck... understandable.

I also figured out if you hit the remote start button AFTER you started it up, it will shut the truck off. Did that by accident once, then tried it again to make sure it's what I did.
