Not sure what year his truck is but i put a Mopar on my '13 and its closed. It looks cool. Its a hell of a lot bigger than the oem.

Running vara ram on mine year round. Works fine. When it snows (if that's possible in Alberta nowadays) I run the truck through a field of built up snow for fun. Through drifts and whatnot. Never higher than the wheels however.

Also run it in heavy downpours. Never missed a beat. The filter may get wet but it's never soaked through and the truck had never skipped a beat while driving.

Just clean the filter every spring.
