I Have a 2017 Ram 4x4 with the hemi engine and I noticed that some of the trucks have dual exhaust and others like mine only have single exhaust.
Anyone know the reason for that?
Thank you

It's based on your trim level. Dual exhaust is higher trims, unless it's a diesel of.course afaik those are all single.

Garbage? They are mathematically tuned to ensure the best possible.operatiin of emissions and quiteness. I assure you, a multi billion dollar company doesn't distribute "garbage" or non functioning emission systems. What an ignorant thing to say.

Mine looks nothing like that. But even so, dual exhaust from factory is for appearance. That's not garbage, it's still functional. Though that's obviously problimatic and not intended.

It is trim level, but like many things based on trim is still an optional add on. Heated seats are standard on a Laramie but can be added to lower trims. Same goes with the dual, it's standard on higher trims optional on others.

That does look like it would choke down 1 side of the engine pretty good.

my observation is the dual exhaust also sound different/better than the single, so its not just for looks.

So how much HP/TQ does adding a "proper" H or Y pipe add?

the y-pipe is often one of the first mod replacements we do.

I dunno, I got LT headers, Tuner and replaced the entire garbage factory setup all at once

Its pointless to replace the factory Y pipe if you keep those ridiculously restrictive factory manifolds.

Another dumb answer, you better go look at the higher level Eco Diesals, they come with dual exhaust these days too.
