i am wanting a throatier sound without having to go true dual. is that possible?

HELL YEAH! Do you want loud? You can delete the muffler all together.
Personally, I prefer a mellow rumble. I like the Magnaflow 18" or 24" mufflers.
Check out Mufflex if you want to just bolt something on yourself or you can have a muffler shop do the work as well.

Throw a flowmaster 50 series on there.

I ended up getting the 14" mufflex Magnaflow, idles like a HEMI and opens up like a you woke a sleeping giant when you get on it. Little bit of drone around 50mph but well worth it. Ordered through Moes, great customer service.

I went with the 18" Mag and couldn't be happier. Now that the Mag has settled within 700 miles it even sounds better. I'm going to get the Y pipe tho as soon as I can.

Magnaflow Magnapak is the way to go. Straight through 3in the the 3 by 2 1/2 magnaflow Y pipe.

im here to tell you i got the Flowmaster, and it sounds freaking awesome. of course i had them take out my resignators. it almost has that drone sound. bad to the bone.
