Summer &Winter blend switch dates

My MPG dropped about 1 mpg over the past few weeks so i looked into when they change the blend. Thought id share. I also just got a double wammy this week as i move up to 35" tires last Saturday. Lol nothing like going from 14 mpg city driving to 10.5.

Tire size no matter what can kill mpg. If your going off the evic it's a lies anyway

Yes i know. And the incorrect speedo affects mpg too. As well as miles on. The oddmeter..

And i know bigger tires kill gas milage.

I was only posting to share the link. I had no questions on my mpg change.

Based on what I read wouldn't mpg increase in winter and with winter blend? Additional butane = additional octane = cleaner more efficient burn.

We got any chemical engineers on here???

Fwiw , engineering knowledge or not , every year around late October to mid November my mpg 's drop sharply by about 1.5mpg ++ at times ( winter blend ? )

Partly due to me slow crawling around in 4WD in the deer woods and warming the truck up @ idle due to cold temps .

Same here. Every year it drops.

I have heard one member here from California say his mpg actually increase in the winter ?

Temperature for him is likely a bit warmer on the left Coast as compared to the NE Tennessee hills where I'm at , not certin though ?

Besides he's from cali , so there's that

Well, cold Dense air needs more fuel right..... so colder climents would require more fuel for a propor mix? At least thats what i always thought. Along with the winter mix thing.

I know the winter blend is supposed to get you less mpg. I don't know if that causes as much of a drop as the difference between hot and cold days though. I definitely notice a difference between a day that's 80 and one that's 40.
