We think the super class of oils as 40 weights, but they really aren't. Those 0w40's that are thin for weight PUP and M1, are really 30 weights and that was always the goal. The oil companies can't add the good stuff to 30 weights, so they make 40 weights as thin as they can in order to add the goodies, knowing because they are 0 ratings they will shear down to 30 weights, and be the best 30 weight you can get. They may start out 40 weights barely, they will be 30 soon, and with the zero winter rating you get good cold properties. This is why I call them super class, special stuff. Guys are afraid to run it because OMG 40 weights are thick, but this is a different type of 40 weight. PUP 0w40 is da ****!

And guys just need to look at their 40 weight spec sheet to see if it belongs in super class or not, if the operating visc is near 12, then you have super class oil. Redline aint it at 40 weights, still a great oil, but just is in a class of it's own, a bull in a china shop, I don't know that I would want redline 0w40 in my 5.7, that may be taking it too far for mds, dunno. Now PUP 0w40 may even have higher visc then m1 or others, but because it is GtL I feel it evens out. Someone post a uoa 0w40? even on a short run in the 12's are even less?

Ha remember when we had a thread 5w20 or 5w30? We should have added 0w40, even with the 5.7

So if someone was gonna try PUP in their 5.7 what would be the best? 50/50 5/20 0/40, straight 5/30, some version of 5/30 0/40 mix, or just straight 0/40. From the sounds of it there isn't gonna be that much difference in viscosity.

Are we stuck between lowest possible wear numbers with Pennzoil and curing and possibly preventing the tic with redline with small increase in wear numbers. As my grandson says " this just ain't ffaaiirr"

Remember the Redline is polar , thus pulling more iron out on a drain and giving false higher ppm of iron on a uoa ...

Thanks , I've let deer like this walk a few time this year , maybe even this one . He has great genetics but just a 3yr old deer . I wait till late season to give them plenty of time to breed and spread their genetics [emoji106][emoji106]

Name the deers "stalker" first, makes them easier to shoot.

Don't worry, still in the homers club, pretty sure there are some red lines in that.

Changed my mind, don't call that purdy deer stalker, might make the meat taste like no good stinky RAT. Or call him stalker before you shoot it, then change the name to something sweet?
