I do remember viewing the ZDDP level limits for Kitty damage but I can't recall or find that info. I thought it was over the 1500-1700ppm range. It could be higher?

If some one has this actuall/factual information could you please share it?

I was actually informed that basically if your motor is not burning an excessive amount of oil these levels will not matter. Most of today's oils are produced with safe levels of ZDDP! So I will continue my quest for more ZDDP/Moly/Boron!

Champion Labs filled bankruptcy. Big news they lost 500 million on 750m of sales last year. That is a big deal, looks like a failing business. I don't want my tick back, I'm thinking of getting a least a 6 pack of RP filters. If they go under, who is to say RP would even care enough to get another filter?

Dec 16 last year, less then a month ago. Looks like the filed in june, but accepted dec 16. The judge allowed them to shed 320 million in debt. But this business model isn't good. Bloomberg is as accurate as you can get, here.

Probably wont be an issue, but I bought a case anyhow. I mean which synthetic filters don't they make? If I didn't have this hemi tick, I really wouldn't worry about it. But, I will have the truck long term so I will have to buy filters anyhow., Why not buy a case?

Might be a wise idea to stock up on a handful. Never know the next contract builder for these companies might not have the same quality control.

Just ordered 2 RP from Amazon.

I've got a $20 bill in my wallet burning a hole.
I think I will go to Walmart tomorrow and buy two ultra filters to. They are always low stock on the Ultra filters.

From , what I've seen , most filters are manufactured by Champion Labs ?

I typically use RP-1048 .... are the Royal Purple filters manufactured by Champion ? I believe rhey are ...

I have 4ea , I think I'm good 4 a while ?

^^The last list I witnessed they built the Ultra & RP & M1.
I would hope no matter who starts manufacturing RP/M1/Ultra filters The quality and design will still remains the same!

I think Wix is a stand alone company, I "think" if champion goes under (RP, Fram, Mobil 1, etc), then Wix would own the damn world. Good stock to buy right about now, lol.

I was just about to ask about Wix. We'll see when I do my UOA in the spring but so far I'm pretty happy with the WixXP I'm running. So at the very least if Wix is the last man standing it's still a decent filter...

Wix was bought last May by MANN+HUMMEL that also owns Purolator.

Oil world is constantly changing, looks like the filter world is also constantly changing. I don't like none of it. Monopolies harm quality.

Champion Labs was always one of the best filter makers nobody heard of. Filled a niche for years being a private contract filter maker and oem new engine oil filter supplier. When private label filter brands started going import, they could not compete and had no national recognized corporate branding product to fall back on.

I hope my next vehicle doesn't have the tick, then I could really care less about even running redline and being forced to use a synthetic filter to get the life out of it. Because RP filters will likely not exist and Redline will likely be somewhere between the fine formula it once was and cow dung. Would Redline even have made it if it was started in 2017 and not 1979? Would champion labs ever even made a RP filter if it was started in 2017? A couple of companies own the shelves, they will ensure robust boutique brands of filters and oils just can't compete. I can tell you I wouldn't take another chance on a Hemi without good oils and filters to combat this tick. They hay day of great products may go by the same way as stuff like American made refrigerators. Everything these days are junk, why should oil and filters be different?

Basically every filter I can think of except maybe Donaldson, Purolator/Bosch/Mann, Hastings/Baldwin and Wix(Chinese garbage) I like none of the paper offerings. I was thinking Fram was still Honeywell but may not be. I see the market getting ran through 2 manufacturers sadly.

I don't even use synthetic filter for the tick just for the pleasure of using the oil 10k.
