Yeah, but that wasn't an option.

But the answer would be group 3 imo. The only thing that improves when blended with an inferior product is horse radish. Unless it is group 5/4 blend, I wouldn't spend the same money on a blend when 100% synthetic product is available.

This is what I use it for as well , just a mileage since last oci , as the OLM has zero knowledge of the type and quality of oil being used .

I bet if you reset the OLM back to Zero at 50% oil life and did not change the oil it would still give you 10,000 more miles to go on the same oil [emoji106]

I don’t ever reset mine when i Change my oil.

I leave it alone. When it gets down to 10% i just reset it. It happens in the middle of an OCI all the time. I think the 6.4 is programmed for 8,000 miles though .

It is definitely programmed for 8k; soon as I hit 4K my olm is at 50% dead nuts every time.

Kendall GT1 Max full synthetic is my favorite oil and has been for years. I use Kendall synthetic tranny fluid and gear oil too. Kendall is made by Phillips 66 and I'd put it up against any synthetic oil out there. And the place I buy it from is: kendallmotoroils.com . They have free shipping and their prices are fantastic.

Kendall isn't a bad oil, but it's not going to compare to Redline... Also a Phillips 66 owned brand. I ran it in a number of vehicles when my father was working for a Phillips distributor and I'd put it on par with current Edgew/Titanium based on the performance we saw, but I haven't run it in years. They did start the titanium game alot sooner than I remember any one else doing so that is of note. Their current marketing talks about fuel economy/viscocsity and LSPI telling me the current blends are much more suitable for a little turbo DI engine and not a push-rod V8. Since I can't quickly find a VOA I'll go off the marketing material. This makes sense considering, at-least when I kept tabs on it, they were also the blender for Motorcraft and Ford has a hard on for those small turbo DI engines/CAFE numbers.

Kendall used to be well respected but for some reason no one stocks it anymore. Kinda like havoline. I guess instead of giving us choices off the shelf stores are just going to stick with the big oil companies.

Iirc, you are correct. It was a well respected oil, but wasn't stocked in too many places, even back in the early eighties. Was kind of like redline. Hard to find and not much advertising. The only place I know of that stocks Kendall by me is pep boys.

I don't know that advance ever had them, when I worked at Carquest we had some in the back room. Ain't gonna sell it like that, should have been on the floor.

Kendall marketing if there ever was any, seem to place it slightly above a house brand oil and I only ever saw it at either independent auto parts stores or independent quickie oil change places. I think it is a underappreciated brand.
