Yeah, I think Hemi's on the right track, but it may be 14+ or whenever the big screen UConnect came out. I really don't know. My last new Chrysler product before this one was an '04 1500 2wd QC 5.7 Laramie Sport. I don't remember signing up for it, but probably did. I've never set foot in the dealership I bought it from, so it's hard to say. It is definitely a UConnect thing. I thought they would quit after a year because I don't pay for it, but they just keep coming. The current one says it's 'Urgent' that I take it in for the tranny shift solenoid recall. I suppose I'll take it in one of these days, although I don't want to.

Then i got lucky. Not “big screen” or uconnect.

Just radio.

The only way they know how many miles on my truck is if I update the Mopar connect website

I did not know that the Castrol “ European formula” was actually made in Belgium. I thought it was like the Amsoil European formula were they just tried to match what Europe does but it was still made in America.

PAO party:happy107:

EDIT: GOSH!! If the stuff only had a significant amount of Moly.......maybe the small ammount of titanium acts in a similar way when it creates the titanium oxide layer.... a moly replacment :hmm::hmm:

LOL

I know i know. We have been here befor.

The uconnect 8.4 came out in 13 which my truck has and I don't get the monthly reports. My buddys wife has a 2015 Grand Cherokee and she doesn't get the reports. That's why I assumed 2016+ but I'm not positive on that...

You may be right. I just figured they launched them simultaneously. Even if they did start in '13, they were behind. My '11 Silverado 2500 had a similar service as a part of Onstar, which I believe was a 6 month 'trial'.

I just looked at a bottle of Castrol 0/40 euro formula, says made in Germany, not for sale outside of America's. Have no idea what that's all about.

I'd say that means the formula is different than what is actually sold in Europe...Meaning its additives package has likely been dumbed down [emoji44][emoji44][emoji44]

I'd buy the made in Germany stuff if I could. As far as moly replacement, we need some guys to try that oil against hemi tick. The problem, redline has been so successful every guy is just going for the big dog right out of the gate. Can't really blame them.

I have one single solitary quart of the original German Castrol (the green stuff!)

Im leaving it in my oil cabinet and letting it age like a fine wine. Will probably never use it (I dont have anything that uses only 1 quart)

Well its hard to get a Guiny pig to test an un-tested oil when they’re $50,000 trucks engine is ticking and there’s an easy solution to it like redline.

What Blackstone is looking at is much different variables when determining TBN , interesting though that your OLM for your current oil fill idicates approx 960 miles per 10% of oil life , I'm running a 50/50 mix of RL 5W-30 & RL 10W-30 ...I'll try to remember tomorrow to see how many miles = 10% [emoji106][emoji106]

I did my math wrong for you Sir I used 52% when I should've used 48% , your 10% OLM is about 1040 miles .

Mine is 1035 miles per 10% almost identical as yours , as I have 3624 miles on this fill and 65% remaining meaning I've used 35% oil life on 3624 miles .

Push mower, snow blower, generator, log splitter.... you could use it for top off oil in just about anything too.

My stuff dont leak! :)

Yeah, I guess I could use in snowblower, it still takes a bit more than 32 oz though.

My push mower is a good old 2 stroke LawnBoy!

Humm, [emoji848] last 2 cam lifter failures on here have been running redline, one of them since birth. The way I figure if you got a hemi you've got about 25% chance you're gonna have cam/ lifter problems no matter what oil you use.

The first one that failed the mechanic already said the lifters and cam needed to be replaced, silly to blame redline on that one. Second one the lifters never stopped ticking, meaning it was one of the 20% of vehicles that are too far gone to be solved with lubrication.

If you want to use that as an excuse to **** a sell out oil that sold out to profits over quality base oil, that sold out their own philosophy to join the sparce API gov't dogs, that sold out v8 owners in order to cow down to folks owning di turbo's, there is great company for you that did all of these things, Amsoil.

Or consider an oil that never sold out it's group 4/5 base even though 95% of every oil company did for increased profits, told the api to **** off they aren't lowering engine helping additives, and told folks with the di turbo's we will make an oil for you but not at the expense of hemi owners who might like having decent calcium in their oil, well we know Redline is the only choice.

Kind of funny that two guys here constantly head in the direction of an oil that has consistently lowered the quality of their oil, in order to attack the one company who didn't. Guess that entire "used to be an Amsoil dealer thing" is realy for life.

Top off oil doesnt mean it leaks. Every engine in the world consumes some amount of oil. Some more than others.
