can anyone give me an idea what a reasonable # of hours a shop would bill for to install a torque converter in a 2012 Ram 2500 5.7l ?

I was thinking of doing it myself, but without a lift, or transmission lift, depending on what it may cost me I may just pay to have it done.

I'm in the same boat at you, ordered a Circle D 3400 2 weeks ago. Just waiting for it to be built and shipped. I really want to do it myself but its just me and a floor jack. Not sure I can pull it off.
Best price I found was $400 in my area.

I would think they would bill 6 hours give or take even though a good tech could probably do it in half that time. Removing the trans on the garage floor is not fun at all. If you do tackle it yourself find a "you wrench" and rent a bay with a hoist for the day. Your back will thank you.

Did my 13 in 4 hours with a mechanic friend on a lift using a trans jack. It was 4x4 also.

Got my TQ today, really excited. I've watched every YouTube video available and the install seems straight forward. Only thing is I would be doing this by myself, wresting with the tranny on my back with a floor jack. And when to use or not use the washers between the converter and the flex plate. I'm sure there is a measurement of maximum and minimum distance, anyone know what that is?
