I just took a long trip and noticed that my 2015 RAM jumped out of cruise control a few times when I hit dips and bumps in the road. Turning off the traction control seemed to fix the problem, but I haven't driven it enough to prove that yet. Tonight, I hit a dip in the highway with the cruise control off and the truck braked enough to push me forward. Are there problems with the traction control that can cause this?

Any big dips in the road or abrupt lane changes will turn off the cruise. Shouldnt activate the brakes unless it senses wheel speed differences though.

These aren't very big dips and dips like this never kicked it out of cruise control or caused braking before. This makes me think a sensor is going out, or a connector is getting loose. Hope the dealer can find it. This isn't a safe thing.

I'm reading this from my hotel getting ready to hit the road again, done almost 2000 miles in the last week and never had it come out of cruise by itself. Something is wrong.

Hello,

I've been having exactly the same issue with my Ram 2013 1500. Whenever i'm driving on the freeway, 70mph-80mph, if there's a small dip and the truck bounces up/down a little bit, the traction control kicks (traction control light lights on on dashboard for a second) in and suddenly forces truck to brake which throws me forward. It has been happening about 1-2 times per week.

I'm about to take it to the dealer, but i'm expecting them to give me hard time as they usually need to be able to reproduce the issue... which is hard as it only happens above 70mph and only on small dips on the freeway.

Have you found answer to your issue?
