So took a trip to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg TN this past weekend. Went HWY 58 through Lovers Leap and then to I77/I81 to TN. Got 17.4 MPG going out. Came home via I40 got 19.5 MPG on way home. All this with Hemi 5.7, 3.92 gears and 3 adults and one 13 yo. Great trip, comfortable ride. Handled the Mountains great. Used the Tow/Haul mode on the Tranny coming down the mountains acted like a Jake Brake. Did awesome. Love my Ram!! :favorites13:

I lived in Knoxville for about 10 years & would go over to that area about once a month. Is there anything left after the big fires they had?

Just curious, how fast was you going? I also have the 3.92 and I if I keep it under 70 Highway it does pretty good, but anything over 70 & city driving sucks

I went up to Gatlinburg this past weekend myself. I left from Hiawasee GA and went up through the mountains. My speeds were pretty slow. I'd say about 40 average on that drive, but i got up to 20.3 mpg. I was amazed at it, as I have not seen it get above 18.something ever.

There is a lot of buildings and homes that were destroyed but most were left standing.
I kept my speeds about 5 above posted speed limits except one time I didn't know what the speed limit was and got a ticket.:naughty: But that was okay cop just doing his job.

That's about what my truck with 4.10s does. The slower the better with my truck.

I used to run 129 south of Marysville, on a motorcycle, before it go so popular.

SugarPuss, and l toured the Biltmore, a year ago.

I've done the Dragon's Tail in a semi with a sleeper & a 53' trailer. Surprisingly it's legal & saves at least an hour & a half from going all the way around.
I did that 2 or 3 times & thankfully every time was in the middle of winter so I didn't meet any cycles & very few cars.
