Why does it look like the mufflers are not the same physical size? It only matters if the flow characteristics are not the same. You need equal back pressure on both sides or it will cause problems.

Ok well I went in he raised it up and showed me they are the EXACT same part no. Looking at it from under they looked exactly the same. One is offset center and the other is offset offset, because of the way the dual exhaust are setup it has to be placed like that to avoid hitting anywhere. I also had him put some kind of bracket on to avoid rattling in the future

They could still have somewhat different flow characteristics because of the change in internal geometry to allow for the different inlet/outlet positions.

That is why I was curious about the X-Pipe/H-Pipe question, I would assume you have to be X-piped since you are probably a 4x4.

Also cross-linking your banks if done at the right point can actually create a bit of pull on the other bank to help the exhaust gas get pulled out of the cylinder freeing up even more horsepower (maybe 1 lol). Obviously it doesn't make a huge difference, but for true longevity it can make a difference.

true dual issues

Has anyone else gone to true dual on their 2012 ram? I spoke to Flow-Master and they said going to true dual could through the check engine light on and there is no way to fix that. Has anyone had any issues with your truck after the true dual install.

x-pipe/y-pipe

Man I can’t give you a good reason on way I went straight pipes as opposed to an x-pipe or y-pipe set up. I had true dual on my 2010 tundra and loved it so I went with the same set up for my 12 Ram. I think its just personal preference just like how you went y-pipe as opposed to a x-pipe set up. Im not a gear head by any means so if what im saying is BS please fill me in so I can pass some knowledge down the road. :roflsquared:

I love how my ram sounds, i have it from the CAT back flowmaster 40 true dual like igarza. But I had them take off the resonator for more sound.
