Does anyone know if they make a tuner for the 2014 5.7L 8 speed transmission that you can adjust the shifts points with? Last time I looked no one made one for the 8 speed. Thanks!

That sucks. I hate how it shifts 4 times before I get to 20 mph.

Shifts into 5th before 20mph? Either there is something wrong with your trans or you need push on the throttle a little harder.

That's odd mine has never shifted that many times before 20. I would have it looked at or if you prefer the trans to hold the shifts longer I think tow/haul mode will do that for you.

I'm probably exaggerating and I do accelerate slow since I always have my dog with me and she's usually hanging out the window. I just wish I got the 6 speed trans since the 8 speed doesn't seem like an upgrade to me.

The benefit is better fuel economy. The trans keeps the engine rpms based on the amount of torque demand. Put enough of a load like a trailer behind the truck or step on the accelerator firm enough, it will stay in first till 20 mph.

I would swap my 6 speed in my 2012 for the 8 speed any day of the week..lol.

MY local city MPG has been around 10-11mpg for the last 4 years. The drop in gas prices has made this an non issue..lol. when I bought my truck gas prices where at $4 a gallon...so now I just stomp on it when I can..hahaha

But MPG was never a concern when I bought a full size truck with a hemi.

Truck name: Rampage

At first I didn't like the 8 speed. But I have gotten used to it and find that it is superior to my old 5 speed in my 09. Now that I run a Hemifever 93 tune it shifts like a sports car. I love it. He must be able to cut the torque management out.

I thought a 6 speed would spread the shifts out a little more but I guess not. My 68 T bird has a three speed trans so that probably makes me feel my 8 speed that much more.

Just wondering, does it shift harder? The reason I ask is because the stock tune with the 8 speed and 3.92s shifts SLOW. It would accelerate so much faster if it didn't have that pause when it shifts. My truck will spin the tires through first, stop spinning during the 1-2 shift, and the continue spinning when it completes the shift to second. Anybody else on here with an 8 speed notice the same thing? WOT shifts are disappointingly soft and slow.

It shifts firmer. It seems that the harder you push the gas the firmer it shifts
