The short answer, yes it can, but you will need to swap the transmission as well because the 8HP45 is only mated to the V-6, you would need an 8HP70.

One of those will run you $800-$1000, now to the engine, if you can find a crate sticker 3.0 EcoD then awesome, otherwise after market seems the only option. Which will run you $30k.

Honestly it's probably cheaper to buy a truck with an EcoD already in it. But here is one option!

Or are you just looking for the turbo? If so the answer is no.

my build sheet says 8-Spd Auto 845RE.... same thing ?

Yeah, basically there are 3 8-Sp transmissions the FCA uses, they are rated for different power levels.

845RE (8HP45) rated to 330 Ft Lbs of torque
8HP70 Rated to 515 Ft Lbs of torque
8HP90 Rated to 660 Ft Lbs of torque

Only difference between 8HP45 and 845RE is ZF makes the first and Chrysler makes the 845RE, same transmission

Do you just want to add a turbo, or swap engines? I guess your first post was confusing to me sorry.

Ok, I would go a supercharger route, like the two mentioned above, but became on how much power you make as your transmission is t rated for more that 331 Ft lbs of torque

One more question. Sorry. if I decide later on to swap the engine for a 5.7 will I need to replace the transmission as well?

Yeah, I have the 5.7 and the 8HP70 in mine, best option there is find a wrecked truck and take everything from it

might be more cost effective to save the couple of grand you will need and sell your truck.. take the truck sales money and the money you saved.....n buy a truck with the hemi

Thank you your very helpful.

google rip mods. they have beed adding SC to the pentastar for awhile now. started with jeep wranglers. you might get some good answers on their sight. also, if you do just add a turbo, i believe you will have to have the ppm tuned also.
