Got my AG installed today. The only thing is, there is a hose on the left side which pushes up on my AG. I've emailed Vararam to see if this would/could be an issue.

It does that on mine too. I've seen some that zip tied those two hoses together to get more clearance on the left. I just slam the hood down and everything seals up, so I left it as is.

so......does this thing really do much of anything?

I mean anything realistically noticeable or usable....especially for $300+?

Sure as hell looks cool though.

Has anyone made a sport hood functional with one of these? That is one of the only ways I see it doing much.

They are the best performing cai out there for the rams. It pulls the air from infront of the truck and shoves it in the motor. The performance stats have been posted many times on RF

I dare to say yes. However, I had a MagnaFlow installed a couple of weeks ago, so I can't say that didn't help, whereas a stock muffler may not be as strong a difference.

this has been de-bunked as the the sport hood openings are too far depressed and the actual aerodynamic airflow brings the air over the openings, not into them.

Actually the AG has a ramp (if you will) that scoops cool air directly from the grill. I'll try to get better pics tomorrow.

Attached are images that show the front wing going down in the front grill, then you can also see the wing behind my grill where it is grabbing nice clean air from the road ahead (not just the engine compartment).

Working on that, but this is what I've done so far as making a functional ram snorkel. Before and after, of course I had to make the Air Grabber work on my 03 first as at this time they are not offered (Hemi under glass only). The hood opening has to be large enough for it to grab the air to make it functional, SSK style I'm thinking?

Not sure this design would work with the fancy ass active grille shutters on the 4th gens.

Looks awesome tho! I'd take one if I still had my 3rd.

Yes, I should've probably asked this before purchase but... what type of maintenance will be required for the AG?

Looks good! I love mine!

Maintenance is the typical take off every oil change and clean it with soap and water. I use the k&n cleaner kit and spray on mine.

I also have a 2015 ram with active grill shutters. The fix to that is to remove the second and third row of shutters (simple bend the plastic in the middle a bit and pull out the tabs on each end) and you have constant air coming in even when they closed.
