Hey what's up everyone. I just purchased a new 2017 ram sport single cab. I'm wanting to do some small performance upgrades first. Just not sure what to do. Im eventually going to put the 6.1 cam in etc. I guess I'm just itching to upgrade. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Although some will argue it, bolt on's really do not add a lot of usable power. Back in the day it was called ricer math. A good butt dyno but doesn't add a lot of power is the pedal commander or a tuner. Both are mostly placebo, but it will make the truck feel like its a wild beast.

The Cam will add a ton of HP with the right tune. Id save my money for either the cam or forced induction. Those will be where the real power comes from. Other than that you know what your are in for.

A couple of things that lots of guys do:
Tuner w/custom tune
CAI
Exhaust
Catch Can
Pedal Commander
I disagree with the above post. I believe that these items will give you a noticeable increase in street performance without spending your life's savings. You can always do heads, cam, headers, gears etc at a later date, and those mod's will give you a lot greater increase than the list above.

I also disagree with the second post. You could do like I did to My 2015 RCSB - 3.92/8 Speed

PCM Swap / Hemifever 93 Octane Tune
87MM Ported Throttle Body
S&B Cold Air Intake
180° Thermostat
JBA Longtubes with Catless Y
Clutch Fan Delete
ATI Underdrive Pulley
Magnaflow Mufflex 14
BT Catch Can

It's Beastly. Certainly no *placebo* effect here. :Big Laugh:

Me personally, I would save up and go the forced induction route. That is going to be more cost up front, but will give you the most amount of power. A tuner is usually included in the kit for the forced induction.

Thanks guys I appreciate all your comments. I also feel that the bolt on products are kinda a ricer move. Even though the pedal Commander seems to be kinda cool. I think I will wait and just save for some real horse power upgrades. Thanks again

If nothing else a Carven Progressive exhaust system will make your truck sound like a hotrod.

my plan is to drive stock until the drive train is pretty much worn out. then transplant a hellcat drive train into the truck.

If you have not driven a Hemi with the PC installed, you shouldn't knock it.

How can hundreds of us be wrong? Zero lag makes a big difference.........

You took My words out of context. I was not referring to the Pedal Commander...

I have a tuner, along with a host of other things. It's definitely not a placebo effect.

A 6.1 cam won't work in your vvt motor

A custom cam for the vvt motor is very exspensive as the cam core costs a lot more

I would stick with the exhaust. A retune is also going to force you into a very exspensive 1k pcm change And that's before the cost of the tuner and custom tune

Thanks for the clarification.
