Fram Ultra XG10060
This filter is NOT made with the other Fram Filters!!
It is made by another company to match similar specs to RP/Amsoil/Wix XP!

Extra Guard is not built with the same design & specs of the Ultra!
The Ultra is Top Tier of the Fram Brand.

Wix XP 57060
RP 10-48

I use the XG10060, just grab the box with that number on it....easiest part of the oil change....If you aren't conifident in doing the change I would HIGHLY recommend you having someone help you or take it to a shop....its the easiest thing to do to your truck BUT also cause a GREAT deal of damage if done wrong...good luck

I thank you for your response, I will look for that. I've done my own oil changes since I was 16, I'm now 69. It hasn't changed much over the years, except the quality has got much better.

You could look into the fumoto valves.

I looked those up , I'm not sure if I want a valve operated drain plug.Could possibly come open if driver off road or on a rough surface

I have been using RP filters. I would consider the fram ultra. Looks like a quality filter with a silicone, wire back mesh and synthetic media. I don't do what is considered an extended oil change. I run six months or 6 to 6500 miles. Pretty sure the fram ultra would work for this interval.

WOW people actually still use Fram filters?
Scary.

The Fram Ultra is not made the same as the rest of the Fram line up and is a good filter.
The rest of them not so much and agree I would not run them with all the better choices out there.

Have you read the oil filter thread? See in my sig, very interesting bud. I would use Fram Ultra over any paper filter, it actually finished in first place in this test when considering all things like price. Yes Royal Purple and Amsoil had better filtration, but Fram Ultra was very close and all 3 blew the paper filters away. There is literally no reason to use paper filters, with Fram Ultra they are inexpensive, they flow better, and they catch more contamination. I use Fram Ultra in the wife's car, I use Royal Purple in the Ram, you can't go wrong with either choice. Everything changes, it wasn't that long ago that Shell was the worst gas and Pennzoil was a joke, now they certainly flipped that script just like Fram.

Ahh yeah, I wouldn’t run a Fram filter on a lawn mower. They may filter great, but the construction isn’t. K&N, Amsoil, RP, Fleetguard, or Donaldson.

Fram ultra may be a good filter, I'm not going to argue that. My problem with Fram's is that every one of them I've ever used the gasket has stuck to engine everytime ive removed them. If you're gonna use a Fram make sure the old gasket is off before installing new filter.
