Do we care about being legal?

Long tubes will delete the cats as well, correct? Doesn't matter to me, but for the little gain you will get from removing the cats, plus the hassle of having to fool the computer with the O2 things, is it really worth it? Heck, are headers worth the cost and expense compared to the HP you will get?

The SUPER PRO STREET 9000 Spintech or the Carven Competitor series muffler?

I looked at the difference between my old stock exhaust manifolds from my 08 charger R/T( 5.7) and the stock exhaust manifolds on my ram ( 5.7) and decided not to go with headers... the stock manifolds are mush improved from then. I did want a better sounding, free flowing exhaust and to get rid of the stock "Y pipe"/ cobra neck restriction so I went to my local family owned exhaust shop and they removed the Y, ran pipe back to a new Eccelerator muffler ,( 2-1-2) then stock pipes out the back. It sounds nice at idle, and is ok when driving, then at WOT its nice and loud, just what I wanted.....all for 450 bucks installed.

I'm not in favor of removing the CATS, If needed, replace the stock with hi flow.
I did that with my Charger and its a beast and doesn't stink. Seriously removing cats makes your exhaust stink.

MHO is shorties are the best way to go if your not doing head work, cam install etc.

Once you get into the engine , then hell ya long tubes are the way to go.

Hey guys, thanks for all the response. I decided to just Y-pipe it because I can get all the supplies for 47$. I am gunna go home and weld it together and then crawl under and bolt it in.
I am interested in headers now so any information anyone has on those please tell! Also, would a cold air intake improve exhaust sound?

I did my Y pipe last night it sounds AMAZING. Huge improvement. I am so glad I did not go with the carven exhaust, because the Y pipe sounds exactly the same and for 53.47$ after tax I don't think you could beat it.

If you leave the resonators on they technically count as mufflers. Jus might not pass emissions testing if you live in one of those areas in Pa.
