whats the difference between these two. Even though they are in the same generation they seem to be broken up. The only difference I see is the material or the seats and that the hemi engines say hemi and not hemi magnum.

But what are the big differences. I was looking at an 04 to possibly buy but was just seeing if it would be worth waiting to buy an 06 and up

They are pretty much the exact same, except the 06-09 had a small interior upgrade.

See, during the economic drop, dodge was going bankrupt and when they redid the interior for the 06-08's, they had to go a little cheaper, thus it's not as nice as they could have done. Alot of hard plastic and not as user friendly, but still an upgrade from the previous 02-05's. Along with the headlights, bumpers and fenders.

EDIT: ooh good point, forgot about the MDS.

Headlights, grille..different gauge clusters...I believe the MDS in the Hemi started in 06 with the 1500's...the 4.7's got a bit of a HP boost in 08....

its was not small interior upgrades they changed most everything. Full new dash and all new seats. along what others said like the 06 headlights and then again in 07. Then the tails changed in 07 also. Fenders and bumpers changed also and the grill became less round and more "sharp".

Isn't there something with the 06-08's where the engine goes from only pushing 4cylinders to the full 8? Like to city driving? I know I can feel it when it switched in my truck.

As others have stated, it's called Multi-Displacement System (MDS) and it's garbage. I turned mine off.
