i have a 06 ram 1500 4x4, and when it shifts from 1-2 , there seems to be a excessive delay ,like pushing in a clutch pedal, also does it between 2-3 also but not as bad, when accelerating is when it is most noticeable, does anybody have any experience with this problem?

thats the 5-45RFE for you. sluggish is an understatement for it.

have you been keeping up on the maintenance? low/old fluid can cause it to do some wacky stuff.

Transgo HD-2 shift kit would help your slow shift problems.

Torque management at it's best. Superchips trans tune can help with that considerably by reducing torque management between shifts at part throttle and WOT

Sounds like its maybe the clutches slipping. Check your fluid.

1-2'nd shift solenoid? Dealership can use the star scan to map the shifts and ID if the solenoid is the problem.

When mine went (in a 48re) it would hang in 1st for ever...drop into 2nd ... then pop right back into 1st. Not fun what so ever.

Good luck!

fluid is ok and doesnt smell burnt, has 66000km on it but havent changed fluid let because iaw manual its not due let, when light on pedal its seems ok but when accelerating you get the delay im leaning towards that this is the way this tranny shifts (sucks) maybe a tranny reflash or have to wait untill i get a tuner, other wise tranny is ok, any other people have ths problem?
