Have too many miles passed? Will it cause any harm to drain the pan and change the filters? Everything is running great I dont want to have problems. I'm realy nervous that I've waited too long.

I have an 2004 Ram hemi. My transmission fluid was not changed until around 85,000 miles. However, mine was changed by a shop. I asked to see any parts and filter which were replaced so I knew what was replaced and how worn each piece was.

Mine got done at around 105k.
Not by choice though, the pan was rotted out!

I think it's recommended at 60k with our trucks so I don't think 17k miles will hurt it.

It would not hurt to change the fluid including the filters and get the ATF+4 fluid.I had to change the fluid in one including the pan Thursday, customer ran over something sharp and poked a hole in the pan.Came in on the hook and was not driven.
