When I shift into 4x4 high or low, my truck pulls to the right, more than slightly but not unmanageable. Then when I shift back into 4x2 it is still there. If it is in 4x2 for a while it straightens out and drives perfectly straight.

Are you on the highway? I'm betting your alignment is out - not so much that you'd notice it in 2WD, but when you roll it into 4WD it will exaggerate it and which ever way the alignment is out it'll pull that way when you give it gas.
