2008 Hemi vs. 2008 Vette?

I plan on racing my buddy who has an 08 vette/6spd completely stock. He is a decent driver but i think im better than him. I have an 08 ram hemi/auto 4 door 4x2 with so far the only mods being removed cat and flowmaster exhaust. I was planning on getting a CAI setup, programmer, trans shift kit and use 100 shot of nitrous. Will this be enough to overtake my buddies vette and will the motor and tranny handle these mods on my truck? Personally i think this will be enough but if anybody has this setup or one similiar to it please let me know.

I just did a quick search and seems that the stock 08 vette with a 6 speed runs low 12's. Even with what you listed you will not run low 12's. So the only way you can win is if he can't handle driving the vette.

If the guy can't drive then maybe you have a shot but if he's a decent driver then it won't be enough

Now if you ahd the SRT 10 then I would have said Yes go for it, but like the others said you will have a hard time with what you have and plan on doing to it.

Yep not gonna be close. To be close your gonna need cam/heads, verter, gears, tuner and a small bit of gas. You might be able to get close on just motor just depends.

That's a joke we throw around at work, a former coworker bought a 94 chevy single cab pickup for like $100 cause it had no title, he wanted the rear end. So he took the nitrous kit off his fox body and took it to the track. It made one 7.90 sec 1/8 mile pass on a 300 shot then blew when he let out of it. Was fantastic lol

Thanks for the all the reply's. I guess I already knew the answer but I was being optimistic. Not really ready to open up the motor just yet but will do it after the warranty is over.

He had a jet stick and fill spray side with no fuel side I bet and blew the bottom out.

08hemi these motors are not that bad to do cam/heads just depends on how much time you have to spend doing it. They are fun to mod.
