Hello, I want to install a new cam shaft into my 360cc but have been told the computer may not agree with it.

Question: How do I find out what cam shaft to use with the OEM computer?

I do not want to use a "tuner", I just want to install a different cam shaft.

Get a call in to Hughes engines.

And then try this new website with all the answers: www.google.com

Oh there is people here that will tell you not to bother swapping new performance parts into a stock engine.
Apparently you actually HAVE TO swap damn near everything and possibly rebuild the engine AND get a "tuner" from one of the members here or your just wasting money.
Not me though, I'm interested in seeing what you put in and how it runs.

No, cam swap is easy, the reason you need a tuner/programmer (I have no vested interest on whether you do or not lol) is the program in the PCM has a set of parameters matched to cyl head flow, cam profile, intake manifold, etc. If you deviate from those parameters enough, then engine tends to run like **** or in some cases not run at all...A slightly different cam may be ok, but enough of a departure from stock will run rough at the least and you won't get the benefit from doing all that work. Have to think of everything as a system and not just throwing individual parts at it...
