3rd Gen Ram Info... help Aaron

some of you may have read my thread about startting a 3rd Gen buyers guide sticky in the forum, if not, here it is: http://www.ramforum.com/f28/3rd-gen-ram-buyers-guide-1724/

I think we should all help Aaron get some ideas for this so he doesnt have to do all the work himself...
Post up whatever you can think of- problems, differences year to year, tuning options, mod options, things to look for when buying...
I think we should try to keep it year specific (or at least '02, '03, '04-05, '06-'08..)

I'll start with what I know; the '03:
Common problems:
-retainer clips in anti spin diff
-leaky rack and pinion
-warped rotors
-dash crack (although most here havent had it)
-hemi tick
-i think the 4.7's had sludge issues, and head gasket problems..??

Mod options:
-limited due to seperate pcm and tcm? (maybe not the right abbreviations..)
-can tune with superchips (limited)... not sure about other tuners
-cant tune tranny
-TMR delete (only year)
-cant adjust idle which makes custom tuing difficult (aaron can elaborate more on this)

Suspension:
-t bars- can crank them for free level, but need longer shocks
-tend to have more cv angle issues with lifts

General:
-different trims: slt, sport.. not sure what they all are. maybe say what is included with each trim level...
-545rfe tranny (same in 4.7?)
-no ''tow mode'' just OD off

thats just for the '03... not sure what else to add, i'm sure you guys/gals will have some more ideas. i'm not sure how in depth Aaron wants to go with this, or how he's going to incorporate the 2500's...

Yea we are good at that. lol But what about the few and the proud... The 2nd gens?? We can help with the first gen second gen. lol That sounds weird.

You forgot about the
-power steering pump lines leaking
-cracking or splitting radiators

I know nothing. I can talk all day about the 5.9. But outside of that I know nothing.

I know 3 people with dark colored 03's that the fender wells are rusting out already
