Hey guys,

I have a line on a 2004 CTD 2wd 102,000 miles. It is a SCREAMING deal but I don't really want a 2wd. First off, I know anything is possible with the funds, but is it worth it? If I could pull it off for 4-5k it would be worth it to me. hoping someone on here has done it and it cost a lot less though lol. Any help is always appreciated

Is it a good enough deal to just turn the truck around and make money?

I could see it being done for your price range but of course it certainly wouldnt be easy.
2wd use use triangular control arms similar to 1500 while 4x4s use more of a 4 link
You would have to have control arm mounts welded to the frame, spring perch should be the same.
Front axle with all the steering components, I'm pretty site the pitarm arm, steering set up etc is the same
A transfer case and maybe a new trans it self.
I have no idea what you would need in the way of electrical. 03-05 still used manual t-case so it might not be so bad. I'm just not sure if there's any different brake/abs sensors etc

typically I would but I am buying from a family member. It's an 04 CTD SLT LWB 2wd 102,000 miles, interior is pretty rough, exterior is great. $2500. I wouldn't feel right flipping a truck from family like that. Truthfully I don't know if I feel right buying it for such a low price in the first place, but it's a weird situation and my aunt just wants it gone. Her kids don't want it, so she offered it to me for an AMAZING deal. Plus I know the history of this truck and I know it hasn't been beaten on like like many 4wd's have been

I would, for that price you can even just run a level and more aggressive tires until you find a shop that you feel confident in doing the work.

Or make it a drag truck, those motors are unreal with the right mods.

I'm having a terrible time finding lifts for a 2wd CTD 3500

It doesn't have a shifter for the t-case on the floor?! That's really wierd.
I know my buddies 03 has one and every other 03 that I've seen does
Even 06 do
I'm pretty sure 07 was the first year for electronic t-case
Esai is yours electronic or did they only switch them with 6.7?

Look on the cummins forums there is a lot of 2wd 3500 lift guys. Not sure the brand.

This is a 3500 with the 6.5 CST kit and bigger tires. CLick to goto thread.
