Last truck I had went in for 2 weeks.....6 weeks later I got it back (and that was with a LOT of prodding/nagging on my end for them to get it done).

Nice when things like that work out faster than planned.

buddy of mine is a painter at a bodyshop...they can get stuff done, depends on the main office people. The office people usually push and say its the body guy or painter. They get paid on how fast they knock it out, not how long it sits there. usually the long delays is the office personel.

Yeah I hope that they spent "quality" time on it. I know when I went down a mountain in my truck I was told it would take 9 days to fix once parts arrived and they ended up having it for close to 40 days. They said it took so long because they had their best guy "the owner" working on it because of my sponsorship with the largest truck shop here in Alaska. They said they wanted it better looking then it did before my slide down the mountain.

A good friend of mine does body work, he said the quicker they get stuff done the better because they still get paid for whatever the job calls for so if the have two jobs that should take four hours and they get them both done in four hours they still get paid for 8 hours of total time

Yep the workers get it knocked out fast, its the office hanging up the time lines. My hood was at the shop ready to be shot and the main office never told the painter. I saw the painter at lunch and asked how the hood looked and the office never told him it was there. The owner of the shop was pissed at the manager because the owner was handling my bill along with a few other of my friends getting custom work done.

I got rear ended and just the bumper needed to be replaced.

I got a brand new bumper, and plastic stepping pad. Quick turn around and I am very impressed.

Maybe they were just overshooting you an estimated time so you would be happier when it was fixed early. I'd rather have a long quote time and it be early than the other way around.

This took less than 2 weeks to fix. So I think 2 weeks was just a worst case scenario in case something went horribly wrong.

Mine is supposed to go in for new paint. Same color with a Sapphire silver pearl metallic Cuda stripe.

Haven't seen it out there yet so the first of it's kind. They told me about 2-3 weeks, but I am expecting 5-6 weeks.

And I have 8 weeks until the first show of the year. May 5th, then a weekend event May 11th, 12th.
