If the bed hit the cab they are going to total it, one of the guys around here had his truck rear ended a few months back and while the damage to it didn't look bad, because the bed hit the cab and had cab damage they totaled and that was their main reason for doing it. It sucks man but at least you are ok

Guy at the ****'s Dodge (One of the best body shops in the pittsburgh area) did not seem too worried about fixing it. I have driven it since the wreck, drives absolutley fine- i'm pretty sure the damage missed the frame; he thought the same. Waiting to hear his estimate- probably somewhere from 6-7k he thinks.

We'll see guys...

Has anyone seen my pet deer? Alright bad taste in jokes, I'm sorry, Speaking from having a few vehicles totaled, 8 to be exact! 2 were bought back, without the salvage title, btw. And restored fully, Frames btw can be straightened. Especially ''box'' frames. as in our trucks. 6 spd , this sucks for you, so close to x-mass and all.But It happened and lesson learned. Hit them ******* with full wot! It's not any easy thing to do, I'll give you that, but neither is seeing your truck roll away on a insurance adjusters truck. God speed brother, hope it works out.

ps. I would seriously be looking for a bull bar, living in the state of deer and frolic btw.

Haha thanks guys... Yea it sure does suck, but hopefully I can make the best of it. I don't want to let go of a rare truck like this.

I've actually always been told to hit them ******* straight on, but i'll tell you what it sure is hard to not swerve out of the way in a split second decision. Maybe some of you have been here. It was not a fun ride.

It sure was nice to just throw her in 4x4 and get the hell out of there and home though.

I'll keep you all updated.

Yup Rocket this makes me think about getting a bull bar. There are a lot of deer round these parts since the hunting sites are far away.

:hunter:Just an after thought, but In my line of work, Truck driving, The owner isn't (you). perse' but they instruct you too hit the deer, regardless of the truck. But when you own your own ****, it's tougher, knowing too intentionally hit anything, let alone a deer or two. Instincts are tough to break, unless you had a few under your belt and decided you haven't gutted one in a while!

Absolutely. No nobody beats it better than me!

Heck, one of the best reasons for having a truck is so that you can throw the deer in the back when you hit it! I always keep a blade in the truck and I'll dress it right on the spot.
