Bought the truck about 4 ish weeks ago, first tank I filled it up no sweat. Since that tankful I have NOT been able to fill it up. The pump 'pops' after about .5 gals on average. It takes around 10 minutes or so to do 8 gallons.

I borescoped the fill tube (no blockage, and the spring valve at the tank doesnt depress with very much effort), and I pulled out the vent tube/fill tube and blew them out with pressurized air. Also blew out the tube itself that connects to the pump and neck (that was a pain to remove!).

Is there anything else I can do to cure this issue besides changing the gas tank/fuel pump? Is there a filter or vent somewhere I missed?

Are the hoses in good shape? No hair line fractures? There should be a vent that releases air as you fill. Get a Chilton manual

on my wifes escape if i put the gas nozzle all the way in the pump clicks off nearly immedietly. if i put it about 3/4 of the way in it is fine. think it has to do with the bend of the neck on the gas tank and the fuel not getting into the tank fast enough making the pump think its full.

the fill tube hose is mediocre. the vent tube is fine.

i've tried holdin the pump all different ways to get it to work. that did nothing sadly. normally its the fillerneck/vent tube (its a single piece assembly) but this one is fine.
