first thing i would do is thake that tail light out and check the circuit board. They are known to go bad.

I don't have the original lights. I bought this with some clear aftermarket ones that don't use the circuit boards. So there is simply a pigtail that plugs into the original harness. once i get the video fixed you will see that they work very strange.

Basically the lights work fine until I turn the driving lights/head lights on.then the tail lights on the right side go out but the directional still works.you will be able to see this in action as soon as I fix the video link

my next question is did this start right after you installed the lights or did you have them for a while?

Those lights were on the truck when I bought it. I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know if it's been like this from day one because the truck was already inspected when I bought it so ask I did was register it.I did not get it re-inspected.

After thinking about this I just realized that my warning light just started coming on so this issue is fairly new.

i'm thinking that it might be the actual aftermarket light

any reason I can't take the light from the drivers side and plug it into the passenger side just to see if it works properly over there. if it does then I guess that will tell me it's the light and not the wiring of the truck.

i can't think of any reason you can't. Just be careful with letting it hang loosely by the wires. The male end of the clips that hold it in can scratch the paint easily.

If there's enough slack in the wire, just set it on the tailgate lol

I've had it out before and it will sit on the tailgate. I'll try that tomorrow and hope for the best.

update on my light issue. I took both lights off and swapped them around. still had the same issue with that light when I swapped it so it appears to me my issue is with the wiring of that one light not with the truck. So I"ll buy some new lights and see if that corrects the problem.

Glad you got it figure out and it was just something with the lights and not the truck itself
