my CV shaft is making the "popping" noise when on slow turns. How easy is it to replace with hand tools? hour job? two hour job?

Depending on how frozen things are, I'd say expect at least a few hours if you've never done one. I haven't either, but replacing my struts took about 1 1/2 hours each side, so to go beyond that I'd say at least 2-3 hours.

It's an easy job just really time consuming. I would worry about getting all the replacement parts accessible if something is broken or torn up in the front axle disconnect and your CVT splines are messed up when you pull them out. Here's a tutorial on how to do it if you don't know too. Have fun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPze_fn6c4g
