Truck is 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 named Cookie Monster..yeah...I know lol.

Unfortunate event where a friend of mines, lost control of the truck and slammed into a tree at about 20-35mph. Another friend of mines deemed the truck total, since he suspects that the chassis twisted. I decline. Is this truck a total lost, or is repairable? Can you point out the damages?

I would say totaled, just by how far that bed is caved in, I'm sure there has to be some frame damage.

Yikes. I'd take a look at it myself if I were you. And if you don't like what you see, than I'd call it totaled.

Not sure if its just the bed but you can see in pic 2 that the bed is at an angle. Which would make me think it has frame damage.

if the beds pushed in that far, i would guess it bent the frame and probably totaled... the axle looks like its at an angle too

Just how the bed side is over the rear wheel would point to frame damage to me
You have bumper, fender both doors and an entire bed
It's going to be expensive
Shame it's looks like a really clean truck

I became a dodge owner recently when my silverado was totalled. In some cases, even if the damage is much less than the value of the vehicle, it is a total loss. Salvage value and insurable value after repair are a factor as well. I would say this is well into the realm of total loss.

Its totaled. If you want to be sure look at the back of the cab where the rear doors are and the bed meets up. If there is a larger/smaller gap on one side OR there is any damage to that part of the truck then its a total loss.

That is totaled for sure, not because the frame is bent...but because it's fu@$)$ the hell up beyond the frame

Probably totaled. Truck isn't new enough for insurance to replace the frame without totaling it

Truck was wrecked as soon as the Confederate flag plate was installed. Simply put, said truck killed itself.FAIL.

Not sure if it's across the board but here in WA. once it surpasses 80% repair to value it's deemed a total loss. Reason being that the repair estimate is just that .. an estimate. Most likely there will be hidden damage that is above and beyond the estimate and it adds up.
I was unfortunate enough to find out first hand.

Dr. is in and and his diagnosis is: *****!
My exact thought

Part it out. That frame is bent and I suspect that the rear differential isn't exactly square to centerline nor are the mounting points in the right place anymore.
