I'm walking around my local Autozone the other day and I see some additives on the shelf like "seafoam, stp, Restore," amoung others. They claim to stop leaks and restore compression in high mileage engines. Do they work? anyone have personal experience with these with proven results? I have 133K miles and wouldn't mind using some if they actually do something.

I've never used sea foam myself. But I know it's supposed to do a pretty good job. Although I will toss some fuel additive in every now and again.

seafoam is marketed to remove carbon build up iirc. I have no personal experience. I have seen alot of people on forums do it. 1/3 bottle in the oil, 1/3 in the gas tank, 1/3 sucked up by the vacumm while running. ALOT OF SMOKE

restore is suppose to do what you stated. I have tried it years ago. from what I remember it was a noticeable change for a tired, hgh mileage car

I have actually been thinking of putting some in my truck.

I've done Sea Foam. I'd do 1/2 in the gas tank, and 1/2 in the vac line. Works well..come to think of it, I'm about do to do both vehicles again.

I didn't notice any change with the seafoam in the fuel but I did when it was sucked through a vacuum line. Seemed to idle and run a little smoother after the smoke show lol

I have no idea if the SeaFoam helped anything. But it sure did make a LOT of smoke.

Never used in it my truck but use seafoam all the time at the shop in small engines. I do toss some stp in my fuel from time to time.

Just did half a bottle of seafoam through the brake vaccum line, and half in the gas tank, and I must say it tan like crap while it was cleaning the motor, but after it was done cleaning and passing all of that crap out...... Runs smoother and has a better throttle responce than ever before! Firm believer in seafoam!!
